At St Saviour’s Academy, Personal, Social, Heath and Economic Education (PSHE) encourages our children to become healthy, independent, tolerant, respectful members of society and provide the skills and strategies they need in order to live healthy, safe, self-fulfilling, responsible and balanced lives. The children are encouraged to develop their sense of self-worth by playing a positive role in contributing to school life and the wider community to prepare them for the outside world.
Through our PSHE curriculum, we provide opportunities for children to understand the fundamental British Values (Democracy, The Rule of Law, Individual Liberty, Mutual Respect and Tolerance) and explore, clarify and if necessary, challenge, their own and others’ values, attitudes, beliefs, rights and responsibilities.
Furthermore, we also provide our pupils with Relationships and Sex Education (RSE). These age-appropriate lessons promote an understanding of a range of family types and other people who contribute to providing children with the care, love and support they need to grow and develop along with providing children the knowledge to remain healthy, safe individuals in a forever changing world.
