Computing

The aim of Computing at St Saviour’s is to equip children with the skills and understanding to live in an ever-increasing technological world. It is our intention to enable children to find, explore, analyse, exchange and present information in a variety of ways across and engaging and inspiring curriculum.

We will focus on developing the three core areas of the Computing Curriculum: Computer Science, IT skills and Digital literacy. Computing skills are a major factor in allowing children to become confident, creative and independent learners. Key skills taught will include problem solving, programming and logical thinking. We will ensure that all children are given the opportunities to develop their skills through access to high quality and well-resourced lessons where all pupils can achieve.

We acknowledge that computers and the internet do have the potential for inappropriate use and access to undesirable material and that we have a duty of care to protect our pupils. We take the safety of our pupils very seriously at St Saviour’s and we are committed to ensuring technologies are used appropriately and safely in school and support parents to continue this message at home. We aim to frequently teach children how to stay safe, be responsible and make the correct choices online.
